[ earlier this week, we launched a blog for pd. i know, i know, another blog... you don't have to follow this one just as long as you promise to pass it on to your friends (with marketing budgets) who need creative services. it's more than mere industry stuff and my passion. ultimately, this business puts food on the table and air in the bike tires. ]

[ noah had the awesome opportunity to partake in the special features of a Jim Henson production, Unstable Fables: The Goldilocks & the 3 Bears Show. he was part of a group of 3rd and 4th graders (he's almost in 3rd grade) that were taught by the director, Howard Baker, how to create storyboards for a feature animation. we also saw the making of Tortoise vs. Hare. and they gave us a copy of the first in the series, 3 Pigs and a Baby. Thanks to Melissa and Bella who hooked it up! ]

kermie. outside.

we were just waiting for the other kids at melrose elementary.

we were in!

noah next to dino from the flintstones feature film.

the crew, director and kids involved with the filming. this was in the creature shop. we weren’t allow to take photos in there. except this one (without anything in the background). for the record, we saw some pretty cool costumes, clay moldings and puppets.

the chaplin stage hall. this was charlie chaplin’s original studio in the early 1900’s. they still use it today.

we went inside and got a glimpse of them making “Sid the Science Kid” which will debut on PBS Kids this fall. (we weren’t allowed to take photos in there either, but i have to say, what we saw was rather impressive.) check out a preview here.

a picture of charlie chaplin’s impressions.

and it was replicated in the same spot from 1918.

i brought the spy cam into brian henson’s office. shhhh.

kermie. inside.

it was a great experience for noah. and myself. i could see the inspiration tingling under our skin as we walked around the lot. noah couldn’t stop drawing everywhere we went and i couldn’t stop snapping pics. definitely a day we’ll always remember. especially after we get the DVD with him on it!
